Brand identity: graphic design, illustration, information graphics, and marketing material for Iridescent, the Los Angeles based national K-12 science and engineering educational non-profit. The work goes beyond simple visuals, such as helping to coin the motto “I imagine. I invent. I engineer.”
The designs are bright, colorful, playful, active, to support the educational goals and structure of the organization that say:
SCIENCE & ENGINEERING ARE FUN!
The people featured on the banners and flyers are people from the actual courses, so as to be honest in representation and avoid being generic.
The design of the logo shows a little girl throwing an airplane, with a parent behind her, to reflect on the involvement of parents in the hands-on educational approach. It is purposely written with fat, non-capitalized letters, to appear more friendly and child-related. The Technovation logo (for one of the programs) purposely matches the Iridescent one, to ensure people do not think it is something outside the organization. Consistency is very important in marketing and in building a company.
